Flower support

Bush & Bach Essences

Flower remedies have been used worldwide for centuries. The flowering plants are known to treat health imbalances. Dr Edward Bach, a British practitioner, popularized this healing method. Each of the 38 remedies discovered by Dr Bach is directed at an individual's characteristic or emotional state. Dr Bach believed that disease originated with the mood and temperament of the person. The Bach flower remedies are grouped into seven categories of negative states of mind which are:

  ◊  Fear or apprehension
  ◊  Uncertainty
◊  Insufficient interest in present circumstances
  ◊  Loneliness
◊  Over-sensitive to influences and ideas
  ◊  Despondency or despair
◊  Over care for the welfare of others

There are many different ranges of flower remedies. One variety which is pertinent here in Australia is the Australian Bush Flower Essences. Australian Aboriginals have used flowers for thousands of years. Ian White, an Australian naturopath, has worked intensively with Australian plants and their positive affect on the human being. He has mapped over 70 essences to their effects when used as treatments.

Flower remedies work on an emotional level and they heal negative feelings. There are a variety of actions the flower essences are known to take including resolving distress, developing courage, relieving stress and developing a higher self esteem. While it is really not understood why they have the effect they do, they can restore harmony to the body.

After a consultation the practitioner will choose five to seven flower essences to make an individual preparation. These flowers will then be mixed in a bottle. The preparation is generally taken with 7 drops under the tongue on rising and retiring. The practitioner may vary this routine depending on the individuals needs.

The flower essences are natural, they are safe and free from side effects. The flowers can be used at all ages. Animals included.
